At People Made Machines (PMM), we believe the best systems start with solid foundations: good data, smart infrastructure and purposeful design. We’re a tech consultancy focused on AI and data, and we’re now looking for a Head of Data to help shape the next phase of our growth.

We are a team of senior data and AI consultants building data platforms and AI systems for our clients. In 2026, we placed 2nd in the Norwegian AI Championship, among 3234 participants.

As Head of Data, you’ll lead our data discipline and our team of Sr. Data Engineers. You’re an experienced technical leader and architect who makes the key decisions and can deliver hands-on when needed. You also follow what’s happening in the market and understand the business well enough to be a trusted sparring partner for client leaders.

Around 80% of your time is spent as a consultant on client engagements, where you’ll often own the architecture and key technical decisions. The remaining ~20% goes to leadership: team development, interviews, setting direction for our data discipline and supporting sales.

What the role involves

Working as a consultant, owning the architecture and technical decisions, from the big picture to the details, and helping clients solve their challenges within data and AI.
Leading and developing our team of Sr. Data Engineers.
Helping client leaders set direction for data and AI, and making sure new solutions are adopted and create real value.
Driving sales, and shaping and developing our client relationships.
Building and developing our data department as part of the leadership team, and working with our CTO on how we work, advise and deliver.

You have experience helping organisations through the change that comes with new data and AI solutions.

You contribute actively to sales and build lasting client relationships.
